Newscast review: Global National for Wednesday, March 11 2026

Summary

Tonight's Global National brings mixed reactions with a packed and efficient A-block consisting of 8 stories in ~14 minutes without feeling incomplete. That being said, the B/C/D blocks averaged ~2.5 minutes, with the C block feeling the least detailed with 2 stories read by Friesen in ~1 minute. The newscast opened and closed in typical Global National fashion (including a hard cut to promos from the close). Statistically, only 5 of 13 stories read had reporters visible on camera, and most of them felt pre-recorded even if a voice or 2-box toss was included, detracting from feelings of human authenticity and connection.
