Newscast review: CTV News Toronto at 6 for Wednesday, April 15 2026
Summary
Whereas the 5 pm newscast felt “compliant,” a bit boring, and gave off “small market energy,” the 6 pm newscast felt proper, largely redistributing the 5 pm stories without adding much fluff. The D-block was basically a business and sports block, with the exception of alcohol rules being relaxed.
Time distribution was good, chunking approximately 21 minutes for the A-block (not a record challenging 27 minutes), 5-8 minutes for all other blocks, and closing out properly.
